Ms. Reilly

Experience
I have a combined five years of
experience in early childhood
education.
I began teaching at the Cohoes
Childrens Center as a fours teacher
from 2010 until 2013.

Philosophy of Early
Childhood Education
As an early childhood educator, I believe I am
responsible for providing quality, purposeful, and
positive instruction that expands across all content
areas, including social and emotional topics.

I then worked at Sheridan Preparatory

As the teacher, it is my job to teach and model respect,
Academy in 2013 through June 2015. I patience, empathy and diligence for my students.

Other related experience includes,
lifeguarding and teaching swimming
lessons to young children in summer
camps, and babysitting year-round.

Education
I hold a Bachelor of Science in
Childhood Education (1st-6th) and a
Master of Science in Literacy
Education Birth-6th grade from Sage
College.

Learning should include both play based and direct

instruction from the teacher. I believe that students
learn best from purposeful instruction whole group
instruction, guided practice with tasks both in and just
outside of their Zone of Proximal Development
(Vygotsky), and through gaining confidence by carrying
out independent activities.

Interests: Kayaking, swimming, hiking, reading, and photography.
