Despite many christens fighting it is unbiblical, unchristian, hard on human life, and is showing bad stewardship skills. To me it means no fighting but it is also more than that it is loving and helping your enemies. If you want to obey what Jesus said you can't fight.

What is Nonresistance? According
to Merriam-Webster's Intermediate Dictionary it is "the policy or practice of yielding to authority even when unjust or cruel. To me it means no fighting but it is also more than that It is loving and helping your enemies. Even though many christens fight It is unbiblical, unchristian, hard on human life, and is showing bad stewardship skills.
In the Old Testament one of the Ten
Commandments "Exodus 20:13 says
"You must not kill". There is no
commandment say don't fight but what do you Do when you fight why you kill of course. You might say that you don't kill When you fight if that is true then you have no reason to fight.
Also in the Old Testament God's
chosen people the Jews fought and killed many people this was against Gods command. This is where most people get the belief that it is Ok to fight and kill. So let me tell you why they fought because God did not force them to obey his commandments. If He would have forced them to obey he would be breaking His own commandment which is a bad way to have people obeys you.
In the New Testament Jesus said to
love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount to turn the other cheek. Also in the sermon on the mount is the golden rule "do to others as you want them to do to you". So you see if you want to obey what Jesus said you can't fight.
In Galatians Paul list the fruit of the
spirit which are: love, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. To abide by those fruits You would not be able to fight. At least I sure don't know how you could fight Someone you love and are peaceful and gentle with.
Many people say it is wimpy not to
fight but the bible and any good christen should say otherwise. A spiritually strong person knows that the things of the world do not last and are not worth fighting for. God is the only one worth fighting for and to fight for Him you do not have to kill any one. Paul said it best when he said "Ephesians 6:12" "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in the high places".
When people fight it affects their
countrys economy. According to a book I read The Great Depression was a result
of World War II but many other
factors also contributed to it. Countries at war put all their force, people, money and much more into fighting when they could use it elsewhere if it were not for war.
Also when people are at war the
way they live is changed. Many men die leaving woman and young children to live by themselves, making women have to work to provide for their familys .God commanded that men be head of a home not Women.
In a land where wars have been
fought the ground is badly
damaged. Many plants and animals have been killed leaving the land bare and unproductive . There are old rusty weapons and war vehicles making the land unbeautiful and unbearable to look at. All this may seem like nothing but it makes bad stewards of what God has given us.
What is Nonresistance and should
Christians practice it? If you do not agree with the information in this essay I encourage you to research for yourself. The Golden rule should sum it up for everyone but my brother Samuel says do to others what they did to you" that right there just the circle of violence going.
