Dear Parent,
We will begin a Playing the Recorder unit during Music class. The recorder is
a wind instrument that is part of our curriculum learning to provide students
opportunities to explore, learn and play instruments. This unit will offer
students review and new learning of musical note reading, techniques for
playing the recorder and a repertoire of songs that may be played on the
recorder.
Each student will need a recorder to play during his or her music classes. I
encourage you to purchase a recorder and cloth case for your child. A good
quality, Aulos recorder may be purchased for $8. If your child already has a
recorder he/she may use it during music class. We also have some recorders
in the music room that may be borrowed during this learning unit, if
purchasing one is a challenge. If you choose to borrow a recorder it must be
returned at the end of the unit if it is not returned you will be charged a $5
replacement fee.
