This play will capture and analyze the ongoing tragedy in Palestine and Israel.
The play will be similar and inspired by the genre of the theatre of the absurd.

Alp and Michal go upstage telling about their performance and play and when
finished they get of stage while entrance music is playing, everyone gets on
stage ready for the performance!

1.Play Entrance music until Alp starts talking!
(Calming Cinema music plays for 20 seconds for all stage set up)
A drama student is holding a big poster which inform the audience about the
location and event.
Poster says: 1995 May, 10, 15:24- Secondary school of Gaza- Palestine
Student slowly walks towards the audience show their poster and get off stage.
3 drama students PLUS Alp and Michal are gathered in a secondary school
hallway and are just about to witness a bombing.
Alp: Guys has anyone figured out the theorem of Pythagoras, I still
dont get it.
Michal (Starts crying): Alp I wish that was my problem! Life sucks for
me, I have to choose to either live with my mum and dad because of the
conflict! (Crying)
Others: Conflict what conflict
Alp: Soon my friends, soon, the conflict will get into our lives soon.
There has been a major unsettlement going on within Palestinian
soldiers and the state of Israel. Thats why Michal is so sad, his father is
Palestinian and his mum Israeli so he has to choose to live with one of
them otherwise, no I will not say that.
All of a sudden a bombing sound plays and all students start running away in
chaos a
2.Play bombing sound effect! Stop when the poster is being shown
A drama student grabs new poster, once again walk across the room showing
their poster.
Poster says: 2016 January 15, Gaza strip, Palestine & Israel Border

3.Playwhen Alp walks on stage and is looking around, stop it when he

starts talking on the phone!
Afterwards Alp rushes into stage who was a Palestinian citizen before but now he
has turned into an armed terrorist. There is a shooting sound effect.
Music stops playing and Alp throws a business bag on stage. He rushes on to the
stage in a rush talking on a phone Ok, ok stop talking about how holy this
mission Im doing is, it still doesnt feel right to me, I mean ok were
fighting for Palestine this honorable country but why do I have to be
the one killing innocent people?
4.Play exactly now!
Phone sound effect: Dont think and do what I told you, this is very
important for our country of Palestine, the leader of Hamas has ordered
you to do this
Alp: Ok, Ok give me the coordinates quickly!
5.Play now!
Phone sound effect 2: No need for coordinates we spotted from you
from the satellite images. Place the bomb and get away as quick as
possible
Michal arrives as an Israeli soldier and orders Alp to leave: Hey you there,
immediately back off, otherwise you will be shot!
Alp says: Im no terrorist, me business men me work for petrol company
(with Arabic accent)
Michal: No, you are Abdul Muhammad el Khalifa and you are a terrorist of
Hammas
Alp: Smart soldier but not smart enough to know this bomb counting down will
kill all of us within minutes!
Michal: (He stops and points his gun at Alp as he orders the other
soldiers cover the terrorist) Hey soldiers cover the terrorist (soldiers
are extra drama students)
Alp: (Alp takes a moment and carefully looks at Michal, he realizes
Michal was his friend in Primary and he drops his gun and starts crying)
Are you David, wait you soldier, is your name David?
Michal: Yes, I am, and you must be the Abdul from form primary school.
Oh my god I cant believe it!
Alp: Brother brother its you, god bless you my brother, I will not kill you,
you are my lifelong brother, I will set off the bomb quickly
Michal: David my friend quick quick dont let us die like this
Alp: (He goes and sets off the bomb at the same time his phone rings)
6.Play sound effect now!
Phone sound effect (Phone rings and Alp throws it to the audience not
caring about it)
Michal: David, I will quit the army, I will not fight anymore, Im tired of
fighting its not a solution.
Alp: Very well said my brother and I quit Hamas, it is not the solution we
shall fight for peace from now on.
7.Play all of it until Alp starts talking with the president!
(Inspirational Music starts playing 25 seconds while an extra person walks with a
paper saying Oslo 2017 International Peace summit)
Alp and Michal, come in with formal clothes because they are about to meet the
presidents of their countries.

Alp: Oh Mr. President it is an honor to meet you in a day like this, may
this peace treaty last forever I wish the best for the future of Israel and
Palestine.
President: David, without people like you so many would have died until
today (Brings his arm round Alp and Michals shoulder) You will be
remembered as the heroes of our nations and the middle east and for
the honor of this day I want you two signing the treaty.
Michal: Thank you sir, this moment is a breakdown in history.
8. Play ending music until actors get off stage
Alp and Michal sign the peace treaty and later on exchange flags of their
countries:
They shake hands as they swap flags and music students end the inspirational
music slowly.
In the end the logo of York productions is displayed*
All actors great the audience under the display of peace logo!
