Health Inequalities

As the society is divided on many social characteristics like sex, gender, race
which affects the health of the common man. This social factors contribute to
the health inequalities in delivering the health care. The authors describe in
detail how the social inequalities influence the healthcare and its access by
the subscriber. Though the correlation between health, race and ethnicity is
still in early stage but there are conclusive evidence. The healthcare usage
by both sexes reflects the social inequality in terms of gender. Considering
the factors like smoking, income, poverty, childcare, caregiving, violence,
mental health and illness has substantial evidence which points out that
women are more affected the men and access less health care services.
Whether women from aboriginal, first nations or other sections access and
use health care services limitedly as they are the vulnerability section of the
society. Though in early stage, the racism and discrimination faced by the
immigrants affects the healthcare service along with social inequality and
economic insecurity. Yet, it cant be nullified. The author recommends to take
action against these issues for promoting the overall health care of the
Canadian.
