Career Situation/Problem to Analyze: PE class hour reducing

Reducing P.E. class hour in school is a common problem. Many

schools assume that academic subject, such as mathematic,
science, English, etc. are more important compared to physical
education class. Especially in high school, where students are
expected to get highest test scores, the concentration of school is
now shifted toward academic subject. Physical education is as
important as other subject, because it teaches student about
mastering sport skill, having a healthy diet, and being physically
active. There are many benefits that one can get of being physically

educated. In order to prevent the reducing the P.E. class hour, the
director of physical education program can have a meeting between
staf and principles to convince why they should not reduce the P.E.
hour. The director of P.E. program can also inform the parents and
students the benefits of being physically educated. This strategy
might not work if there are still many people are not convinced.
