Increase the percentage of graduating UPSR English Paper 2 in building a simple
sentence structure and quality

Abstract

This study was conducted to improve the level of writing skills among the students in year six.
Study was conducted on thirteen pupils in Year 6 Nilam at Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Bandi 2,
Kemaman. The objective of this study is to discover writing problems, measure the impact of
changes scores in all English tests and examinations, then pass in the UPSR, and help to
increase the percentage of schools GPS (Average School Grade) in addition to increase
understanding and attract the students attention to write a sentences on program uses. The
program use in the study is RV3M (Read, Find Verbs, Mind-map and Make Sentences). This
study also hopes to improve the level of writing skills among students, which is used to
measure the impact of training to improve and measure changes in student achievement in
improving writing skills. The important methods use in the study are Observation, Interview,
Questionnaire, Pre-Test and Post Test. The scoring marks for the test are using the UPSR
marking symbols and BAND systems. The results from the study showed the difference results
from pre-test and post-test. Comparison of pre-test and post-test also showed an increase on
student performance in the level of writing skills. Results showed that the students has
demonstrated an improvement in the level of achievement in writing skills.
