LAKE TAHOE
This lake is located between California and Nevada west of
Carson City.

Its the largest alpine lake in the US.


Its the second deepest lake in the US.
The lake was formed about 2 million years ago.

CRATER LAKE
Its located in south-central Oregon
It was formed 7,700 years ago.
Its also called Old Man of the Lake.
It was made by a collapsed volcano called Mazarma.

LAKE OF THE WOODS


Its found in Minnesota and in Canada.
Its the six largest fresh lake.
In French is called Lac des Bois.
There are a lot of pelicans up there.

LAKE HAVASU
Its located in California and Arizona.
Its behind Parker Dam.
The lake was named after the Mojave word for blue.
Lake Havasu City sits on the eastern shore.

LAKE OKEECHOBEE
Its located in Florida.
Its half the size of Rhode Island.
Its the second largest lake in the us.
It covers 730 square miles.

GREAT HOLLOW LAKE


Its located in Connecticut.
Its about 16 acers.
The lake has a trout park thats about 700 feet.
You can swim and fish in it.

FAMOUS LAKES
This was about 6 lakes in the us.
None of them are the great lakes.
Some have unique names.
One was made by a volcano.
