Dear Parents/Guardians:
This letter is to inform you that on Friday, January 22, 2016, The Toronto Police Service
charged Frank Gavas, an employee at Stock Transportation Ltd. which transports our
students. Mr. Gavas drove the school bus for Stock Transportation from November 2006
until January 2016. He was charged with 6 counts of sexual assault and 6 counts of sexual
interference involving students.
We know that this situation may be upsetting for some of our students and will ensure that
supports are in place for those students. TDSB staff is available to our school to help
students with any questions or concerns they might have.
It is important to remember that laying criminal charges does not constitute guilt, and that a
person is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Our practice in a situation like this is to share as much information as we can with you.
Please do keep in mind that because this is a police matter and does not involve a Toronto
District School Board employee there is much information that we cannot share or do not
know.
