(To Victor)

Henry remains standing.

HENRY
(Impatiently, agitated)
Sit down!

Victor sits, Henry turns to Elizabeth.

HENRY
(Tenderly)
You too, Elizabeth… please.

MED SHOT of Henry, Victor, Elizabeth, and Fritz. Elizabeth sits.

HENRY
(To Victor)
A moment ago, you said I was crazy. Tomorrow
we’ll see about that.

Fritz jumps up and runs offscreen.

FRITZ (O.S.)
Don’t touch that!!

THUNDER CRACKS dramatically.

PANNING SHOT of Henry and Fritz as they rush over to Waldman, who is at the slab with the monster.
MED SHOT, LOW, LOW ANGLE of Henry and Waldman beside the slab.

HENRY
I’m sorry Doctor, but I insist.

Henry gestures for Waldman to move away from the equipment. Clarvel walks away.

PANNING LONG SHOT, LOW, LOW ANGLE, Henry and Waldman return to where Victor and Elizabeth are
sitting, THUNDER again, less dramatically this time.

HENRY
(To Clarvel, gesturing to a chair)
Please.

Clarvel sits. MED SHOT of Clarvel and Henry, who stands slightly behind the chair, so that Waldman must
turn to face him.

HENRY
Dr. Waldman, I learned a great deal from you at the
university about the violet ray - the ultraviolet ray -
which you said was the highest colour in the spectrum.

(Henry leans down, his face close to Waldman)

HENRY
You were wrong.

Henry turns and gestures toward his apparatus.

HENRY
Here in this machinery, I have gone beyond that.
I have discovered the great ray that first brought
life into the world.

EXTREME CU Waldman

WALDMAN
(Incredulous, smiling)
Oh! And your proof?

CU Waldman and Henry

HENRY
Tonight you shall have your proof. At first I
 experimented only with dead animals. And then
a human heart which I kept beating for three
weeks.

Henry gestures toward the apparatus offscreen.

HENRY
Now, I am going to turn that ray on that body and
endow it with life.
