JANUARY 2016

Hello everybody!
We are starting a new year and the time here passes so quickly! We will tell you
more about our adventures in Czech Republic.
Spanish Evening
After hard work of preparation, the expected day of the Spanish Evening arrived :)
I prepared things such a presentation of Spain, flowers workshop, music and
spanish food.
Lot of people came to the event. Some of them spanish speakers, which made me so
happy, because hearing and speaking my native language in Prostejov is not easy at
all! Moreover, it is very nice to know that here there are people interested in Spanish
Culture
In the beginnig I did my presentation about monuments and some pictures of Spain,
and, although I was a bit nervous, finally it was fine.
After I offered to the people the food I cooked in the morning (spanish omelette and
a dessert Torrijas). They loved it.
I put spanish music and I danced a bit of flamenco with people, I showed them how
to make easy flowers with just paper and I played with some children.
I can say that this evening was one of the best and funniest moments for me here.
I felt like at home and I had so much fun, and I hope also the people.

Krakow
We wanted to take advantage of being in the heart
of Europe and we decided to visit Poland for three
days. The nearest and most interesting place to go
there for us was clear: Krakow. One of the main
reason was that we wanted to visit Auschwitz
concentration camp. So we booked a tour and a
hostel by Internet and we started our adventure.
Auschwitz was amazing, I dont have words to
explain it. It is a place that it is worth to go one in
lifetime. Listening to all the details and history at
the same time you are seeing exactly where
happened, almost made me cry. Moreover, the day
we choose to go was rainy and cold, which created
a gloomy atmosphere. We learnt a lot that day.
The rest of the time in Krakow was much more cheerful: we visited the beautiful Old
City and the jewish Quarter, we met other volunteers and we tried polish beer.
It was a very nice trip and I enjoyed a lot every moment.

Christmas Market
This month we went to the Chrismas
Market of Olomouc and Prostejov. We
saw the ceremonie of Open Market in
Prostejov and the environment was
very good, friendly and familiar. People
like to go to the chrismas market to eat,
to do ice skating or to drink punch. We
tried the punch and it was very tasty
and sweet.

FEBRUARY 2016
Hi everybody again!! This time we will speak about our Christmas
Christmas show before Holidays
On 22 of December it was the last day of school
before Christmas holidays and the tradition is
that the students of the school prepare a big
show every year, in the theatre of Prostjov. We
had the chance to go there and it was great. Each
class did something special, such Christmas
songs, theatres or dances. Even we participated
with the teachers in one Christmas song doing
the noise with special sticks. We saw students
really work hard preparing this because the
show was very good. The environment was very
friendly and everybody was very happy because
Christmas time was starting.

Christmas in Krakow
My cousin came to visit me to Czech Republic to spend the Christmas time, I was very excited to
see her again after long time. We spend a few days in Moravia and we enjoyed a lot. She brought
me food from France so I was so happy to eat foie gras, cheese and wine of my country.
For New Year we decided to go to Krakow. We
went to a big concert by free, which was the
most famous in Poland, and we met lot of people
from different countries. In Krakow there were
lot of students and the atmosphere was very
friendly and funny. The party of New Year was
very good!
Other day we visited the famous museum of the
Second War World II and it was very interesting. We learnt a lot about the history that day.

We also did a tour to visit the city with a guide who explained us about the history of the place.
In the middle of the tour he said to us that we could go to drink a shot of Vodka to warm up
because it was very cold. For me it was very funny because in my country we drink hot chocolate
or cafe to be warm, but not vodka!
So I can say we spent a great time in Krakow because we saw a new culture and we learn a lot!

Christmas in Spain
I went to Spain to spend my Christmas holidays and it was very nice. I felt so happy to be at
home again, with my family and friends, after three months abroad.
For Spanish people, family is really
important and during Christmas the
environment is really cheerful. On 24 and
25 of December families use to join and eat
cheese, Spanish ham, prawns and turkey.
After, lot of sweets and nougats for dessert
and finally shots, champagne and wine.
On New Year Eve we have a crazy tradition
which is called campanadas. This consists of eating twelve grapes in twelve seconds (one per
second). When? It is exactly the twelve seconds before the new year is starting, that means on
31 of December at 23:59:48. Yes, so crazy tradition, but
really funny! You can choose to eat the grapes at home
with the family (of course that night in every channel
of the TV you will find the clock and TV presenters
telling you when you have to eat them) or you can do
it at the city centre of any place of Spain watching the
clock of the town hall with lot of people. I recommend
everybody try this!

Prestige ball of CMG:
This is a special event for the students that are in the last year of high school. It is very important
for them because they are above to start new life. This day they put very elegant clothes, they
dance and they put the bands.
It surprised us that they start learning this dances for a
long time, since they start the high school.
The result is amazing and they really look like princes
and princess.
It was a new experience for us to see this celebration
and we spend a great time.
