THE A PLACE TOUR
Actually I am thankful because I was given an opportunity to
visit the office of one of the top architectural firms in the Philippines,
the ASYA Design.
Slightly excited because this is my second time to visit an
architectural firm. I felt amazed when I noticed that A Place was the
first LEED Gold Pre-Certified Building in Asia owned by an
architectural firm. By observing the action and the way how
Architect Albert Yu talks, I think his dictum is turning function into
sustainability his strategies focuses on developing his works into
sustainability. As I noticed, most of his works are sustainable due to
its function and material used.
While walking around the office, I learned that there are so
many spaces or facilities needed in designing an architectural office.
All these spaces should be carefully zoned in order to provide
privacy on its function. The last lesson connects to the tour because
the spaces discussed last meeting was all adapted in the office visit.
I think it takes long time to become successful. It involves
challenges and struggles that you need to survive. But I believe that
being successful is not just really on the time it takes, but on how
you are confidently show to others what you can do. The common
image I saw on the works of Architect Albert Yu was sustainability.

Just like what I said in the second paragraph, his works focuses in
adapting his design into an environmental friendly structure.
At the end of the office visit, I felt inspired from all the works
and talks delivered by Architect Albert Yu. The session influence me
to become more productive in my profession, to become globally
competitive and to become confident on what your self can do.
