Graham Moore

Graham Moore achieved a unique double for club and

country; he scored a last minute equaliser on his debut for
both Cardiff and Wales although it was to be his only
international goal in 21 appearances for Wales.
He helped Cardiff into division one and then achieved
another double. He left Cardiff in December 1961 for
Chelsea. Cardiff finished 21st. in the division and were
relegated, Chelsea finished 22nd and went with them.
He then assisted his new club back into division one
before joining Manchester United.
Sadly first team opportunities were far and few between
at Old Trafford and when Dave Bowen, his Welsh team
manager offered him first team football at the County
Ground Graham joined the Cobblers.
Sadly two relegations in two seasons was enough for the
Welshman who declared that he did not want to play in
the third division and moved on to Charlton. Despite
Newport trying to get him to play FOURTH division
football.
He gave Charlton three seasons and while there he was
recalled for Wales winning his first cap for three seasons.
Graham wound down his career with Doncaster before
taking up a publicans duty first in Scarborough and later
in York.
His son Darren was on Northamptons books in the late
1990s.
