Question.
I have created a Course with an incorrect Course Code. How do I correct the
Course Code after the record has been saved??
Answer.
To the best of my understanding this cannot be done.
Why. Probably because this is the Primary (only?) index into the COURSE TABLE
in the DB and changing primary indices is a No-No.
If you try to edit the Course Code t you find the field is greyed out which,
typically, means you have no access to edit that field.
Problem Solution.
Refer to Page 12 of the Administrators Manual I emailed to you in the past.
It tells (not shows) you how to COPY a course.
After you have copied the course as per the instructions you need to DELETE
the old erroneous course record (see Question How do I delete an unwanted
Course Record?)

THAT IS THE DOCUMENTED WAY DO NOT WASTE TIME

ATTEMPTING THIS METHOD IT FAILS KEVIN AND
GARTH WILL RESOLVE IT IN DUE TIME.
When you attempt to SAVE the copy you have just lovingly created on your
screen you get the response

So what is the next trick When the clever stuff lets you down you return to
basics.
In this case it involves Cut N Paste
Do not rely on the contents of your PCs paste buffer to survive across multiple
and varying operataions.
There are programmers who think that the Paste Buffer is there as their
temporary storage regardless of what you have preserved there
Create your own private paste buffer.

OPEN a blank document in some text editor being careful to use one that
preserved formatting if that is important. As a rule MS Word is satisfactory for
most needs but Notepad is adequate when formatting is not critical.

SELECT the entire displayed record
COPY the selection to the Paste Buffer
PASTE the Paste Buffer to your PRIVATE PASTE BUFFER
CANCEL the open Course Record
OPEN the ADD NEW COURSE form (you already know how to do that)
TYPE in the CORRECT Course Code check it very carefully or you may be
repeating this laborious process.
9. Either TYPE or Cut n Paste from your private paste buffer, the required
information.
10.SAVE the new correct record

Question.
How do I delete an unwanted Course Record?
Answer.
You can DELETE a COURSE or you can DELETE a COURSE and all its
ENROLMENTS.
1. View>Edit the appropriate Course Record
2. Select DELETE COURSE or DELETE COURSEENROLMENTS
I have not yet acquired an understanding of why one needs both???
The concept of orphaned enrolments seems quite bizarre to me.

Until I know better I would not perform either of these

functions.
I propose that you remove all removable data from the erroneous Course Record
and then set the Course name to TESTING ONLY and set the Maximun
Enrolments to the value zero (0).
