#everythingyouneedtoknow

#everythingyouneedtoknow is
a video game happening live on
stage. First part is a tutorial for
the game and the second part is
treated as level 1.
#everythingyouneedtoknow is
a spectacle. It is an experience. It
is a decision. It is an active chaos.
But it is actually just a trailer for
something that will never happen.
The question appears, what is it
that every truly great show has
to have? Something personal,
something funny, something
sad, something interactive and
something touching.
#everythingyouneedtoknow gives
you all of that, but on a different
level than you would expect. Its a
show about everything and its a
show about nothing.
#everythingyouneedtoknow is a
project which was inspired by the
influence of social media on our
contemporary lives. It questions
the inability of individuals to fully
empathize with others in the
context of the so called society
of spectacle, where true empathy
is replaced by the illusion and
simulation of contact through
diverse media technologies. It
questions our need for someone
to save us from the anxiety of our
century.

As the so called normal approach to the public is the

one in which the audience sits comfortably in their
chairs, in this project i tried to question the position of
the public through the position of a performer would
there be me without you, but also would there be
you without me? We all try to see this as there is no
performer without the public, but actually there is no
public without the performer as well. In that case we
could also see the public as a group of individuals, and
not as an active audience, Starting from that point, we
can use the knowledge to manipulate our audience
on a very subtle level, in which we give them a (fake)
possibility of choice. Are they here because they want
to be or are they here because they simply have to
be? In one moment, we can shift the perspectives
and take the charge of our performance on an active
level. In #everythingyouneedtoknow I am using the
media of video art, sound and live performance
simultaniously to practically bomb the audience with as
many catchy and contemporary contents as possible.
On the first hand, they seem completely unconnected
but when we look at the complete picture, we realize
that they are connected from the first until the last
second of the work. The audience is given the choice
of sitting comfortably and not being involved in the
piece on an active level, but as the sound, video
and live performance come together, they bond on
a level which makes the audience comfortable or
uncomfortable in their passive position after all, its
up to them to decide what are they up for.
