February 16, 2016 (Bryant, AR) -- At 9:20am yesterday, the Bryant School District informed
our districts parents, students, and staff about a rumored threat to Bryant High School.
The incident that gave rise to the situation was not credible. That original assessment
remains unchanged. There remains no credible threat to Bryant High School.

Throughout this process, the Bryant School District worked hand in hand with the
Bryant Police Department in attempt to calm any unfounded fears in the
community. Along with the Bryant Police Department, the Bryant School District
takes any allegation of potential harm to students extremely seriously. Had either
entity uncovered actual evidence of a risk to students, we would have informed
the public accordingly.

We are also aware that certain photos shared through social media caused more
concerns by some parents and students. While the photos are disturbing, the
Bryant School District and the Bryant Police Department investigated the nature
and origin of those photos and determined that they do not pose a threat
against Bryant High School.

We realize the public would like specific information about what actions the
Bryant School District took, or plans to take, against any students who might have
been involved in the rumored threat against Bryant High School. However,
federal privacy laws prevent the Bryant School District from distributing such
information.

We fully understand the concern of parents and students. Student safety remains
our highest priority and, along with the Bryant Police Department, we will
continue to monitor any allegation of harm toward our students. As always, we
will inform our parents, students, and staff if we discover any credible threat of
harm toward our students.
