Complex Deposits
What is a Complex
Deposit?
Mineralized ore deposit
consisting of two or more
rock types
Not easily separated or
distinguished through
mapping
Two or more ore types
Can have more than one
waste type
Iron, Coal, Copper

Sub-Blocked Models
Different block sizes

Each sub-block = 1 rock or

zone type
Grade Interpolation:
Parent or Sub-Block

Multiple Ore Percent Models

Retain grade values and percentages
Can separate waste by type and percentage
Two types of models

Separate Zone Type (SZT)

Majority Zone Type (MZT)

Multiple Ore Percent Contd

Convert sub-blocked model
from another software
using MSDART

Easier to understand
Too many items not used
in all blocks
Not able to display a single
item to show the majority
zone owner unless
calculated into a separate
item

Bmftocsv.exe
DatamineBlocktocsv.exe

Open in MSDART: Items and limits

Reblock to CSV files

Each setup will be based on the various sub-block sizes
in the CSV file
Set reblock calculations of grade and code items for
each reblock file
Create setup files to be run in runcmd.dat
After reblock is finished convert to one CSV file
