AFFIRMATIVE

-Last night I played games online for about two hours.


-Yesterday I used the computer to talk to my cousins in Australia.

USE:
The Past Simple is used:
for events which happened in the past and are now finished;
for regular or habitual actions in the past;
The Past Simple often occurs with time expressions:
yesterday last month/week/year/ night in 1987/in 2008 from 1997 to 2000/ from 1776
to 1779 ago in the 18th century/ in the 20th century in those days -

NOTE:
when the verb ends in e just add d: likeliked/ use used
when the verb ends in consonant + y the y disappears and you add ied:
trytried / carry carried / cry cried
when the verb ends in consonant + vowel + consonant you must repeat the last
consonant and add ed: travel travelled (but not all the verbs suffer this
transformation!!)
