Hospitalfields Interdisciplinary Residency is a highly international part of

our programme and is open to those working across the arts who recognise
that they require some time to focus on the development of their work. For
individuals or collaborative groups it can be a test bed for developing their
practice and a scenario to concentrate on a specific project.
Hospitalfield works with a panel of cross disciplinary selectors who also feed
back into the programme as guest speakers. We as hosts will facilitate a
discursive environment within the residency building in opportunities for
one-to-one and group discussion.

The Interdisciplinary Residency is not supported directly through public

funds but Hospitalfield aims to keep the cost affordable.
We expect that some of the applicants will pay for themselves and others
will look to their professional body, local cultural support structures, private
trusts or advocating agency for support. Examples of these would
be; Creative Scotland, regional Artist & Craft Maker Awards, Hope Scott
Trust, Royal Scottish Academy Residencies for Scotland Scheme and The
Cross Trust in Scotland and similar agencies in other countries which
practitioners can access information about through relevant Arts Councils
and artist support organisations.
If you need information to support a funding application in advance of our
selection dates please use the material on our website.
If you are selected for the residency by our panel we are happy to
provide supporting documentation, such as an official letter, after the offer
has been made.
Cost for a full 2 weeks residency is 630 full board and shorter residencies
within this period can also be accommodated.
The residency is provided with support from the Hospitalfield staff team
including a chef who prepares delicious, seasonal food this means that the
meal times become key points in the day to come together with your fellow
residents.
There are around 8 places available on this programme. We are open to
applications from groups or pairs of collaborators.
