Important Information
Re: School Fees
Many parents have asked us why we collect school fees. Under district regulations, all fees must be
justified and approved by the school community, a signature by the School Council chair is required
every year. We strive to charge only up to the maximum set by the district and follow the school fee
guidelines diligently. We make sure that the fees are used for the purpose for which they are
collected. We do not make a profit, nor is a profit allowed from school fees.

The school fees (grades 1 to 6) are divided into three categories:

School fees: $15.00 Agenda and newsletters, it covers the cost of the agenda and paper for
newsletters, flyers, notices etc.
Activity fees: $80.00. Covers the costs of field trips, presentations and enrichment activities.
Noon Hour Supervision Fee: $80.00 this fee is collected to cover the salary of an assistant to be on
duty to assist with the continued safely of all the students who stay at lunch and during lunch hour
recess.
In kindergarten the fees are only $90.00 ($10.00 for newsletters, notices, paper and flyer) and $80.00
for enrichment activities, field trips and presentations.
Whether we continue to have the type of enrichment activities at school depends on all parents doing
their part and paying their fees. All our students have participated in all the field trips, presentations
and activities to date. However, we are running low on activity fees which may force us to cancel
some field trips and presentations already planned. Consequently we are asking, in good faith, that
parents pay their fees as soon as they can. We have been able to afford all of our students
participation and enrichment activities with the fees that other parents have paid this year as well as
with the generous support of School Council.
