Executive Position: Vice-President
The Duties of the Vice-President are:
Coordinate and determine how to address resident concerns
Oversee the Resident Concerns Committee and the Dining Services Advisory
Committee
Oversee all constitutional amendments
Serve as parliamentarian at all general assembly meetings
Assume duties of the President in his/her absence until s/he returns or assume the
responsibility of holding an election within two weeks time of the absence.
Submit at least two Of the Month (OTM) each fall and spring semester
Must hold 2 consecutive Office Hours every week.
Meet with an Advisor at least biweekly.

Qualifications for Vice-President
Must be a resident of on-campus Residence Halls at the University of South Florida.

Must have and maintain at least a cumulative 2.75 GPA.

Must be registered as a full-time student as defined by the Registrar during the Fall
and Spring semesters (2015-2016).

Cannot hold a Resident Assistant or Graduate Assistant position with the


Department of Residence Life during his/her term of office.

Must be in good standing with the University and Residence Life. Good standing
defined as not being on probation, suspended, or declared persona non grata.

RHA Election Procedures: March 21, 2016


1. RHA president will announce all nominations based on the candidate applications
that were submitted
a. If there are no candidates for the position, a candidate may fill out and
submit an application prior to the start of that positions election
2. Each candidate for the position will give a presentation no longer than 5 minutes in
alphabetical order, per the candidates last name. The time period may not be
extended. All candidates must leave the room while another candidate is speaking.
3. Each candidate will be able to have an on-campus housing student speak on
his/her behalf for 2 minutes. The purpose of this speech is for the on-campus
housing student to explain to the senators why this candidate would be great for
this position.
a. The person speaking cannot be a member of the RHA executive board or
anyone else running for an executive board position; they may also not be an
RHA/Hall Council Advisor.
4. Senators will then be given time to ask the candidate(s) questions as it relates to
their presentation and the position. Each question asked must be answered by all
candidates. The opportunity to answer the question first will rotate in alphabetical
order
5. All candidates will then leave the room and a closed ballot vote will be held. In
order for the candidate to win the position, a candidate must capture a simple
majority of the votes (50% plus 1).

6. If a candidate does not win the position s/he may run in a succeeding election if
the candidate has completed the application for this position.
