Fuel Pressure Regulator

Removal
WARNING: Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related components. Highly flammable mixtures are
always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
WARNING: Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running. Before working on or disconnecting any of the fuel lines or fuel
system components, the fuel system pressure must be relieved. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
1.

Relieve fuel pressure. For additional information, refer to Section 310-00B.

2.

Remove the upper intake manifold. For additional information, refer to Section 303-01.

Remove the fuel pressure regulator (9C968).

Disconnect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose.

Remove the snap ring.

3.

Remove the fuel pressure regulator.

Remove and discard the fuel pressure regulator O-rings and the seal.

Installation

1.

CAUTION: Use O-rings that are made of special fuel resistant material. Use of ordinary O-rings can cause the fuel system to leak. Do not reuse O-rings.
NOTE: Lubricate the fuel injector pockets with clean engine oil to aid installation.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
