Modeling A Procedure-Exiting The Class
Modeling A Procedure-Exiting The Class
Explanation:
o "Today, we are going to learn how to properly exit our classroom."
Rationale:
o Why does this benefit you as the student?
! Having this procedure in place will allow for quick and organized exiting
and provide us with the most amount of time to learn.
o How does this benefit me as the teacher and the class as a whole?
! Having everyone follow the same procedure every day allows me to
ensure the next class' lesson and materials are organized as well as well
as starting the day's lesson with little or no interruptions.
Explain and model procedure:
o Students will be given the last 2-3 minutes of class to pack their backpacks and
prepare for leaving.
! Students will put classroom materials back where they belong, straighten
up their desks, and pick up any trash found throughout the classroom.
o Students are expected to be sitting in their seats, awaiting the sound of the bell
signaling class is over. Any exit ticket that was assigned will be required to be
turned in to the instructor before exiting the classroom.
o Students will place their individual homework folder back into the collection
point, with the previous day's homework, as well as any in class assignments
required for turn in from that day. This will be located at the front of the
classroom.
Reinforce:
o Fair, consistent enforcement to ensure compliance; using class
consequences as deterrent from violating procedure.
