Exposition writing
Using the skills you have learnt about persuasive writing, write an exposition on a topic
of your choice (to be negotiated with your teacher). You must write a plan, draft and
good copy. Only your good copy will be assessed. Drafts will not be marked self
editing is expected.
Your topic should be a statement that you can write a persuasive argument for or
against.
Here are some ideas you may like to consider using as a topic:

The school canteen should be able to sell junk food

Eating animals is wrong

Explain why your chosen superhero is the best of all superheroes

Why does your favourite movie deserve a special award?

All children should play sport

Smoking should be banned

Remember to:

write an appropriate introduction, three arguments and a conclusion

use language with strong modality to convince your reader

write in full, clear sentences

pay attention to spelling and punctuation

use paragraphs

dont use personal pronouns until the conclusion

use emotive and repetitive language
