Earth Day Celebration 2016

**Since we have parent conferences on Earth Day (4/22), we will instead celebrate Earth
Day at school on 4/20.
1. Green Day dress down day on 4/20

Everyone will be encouraged to wear green.

2. Earth Day bracelets (made out of reused materials)

The bracelets will be delivered to Homerooms/Advisories on 4/19.

Homeroom/Advisory teachers will give the bracelets to kids first thing on Wednesday, 4/20.

3. Earth Day Video

All teachers will be emailed a link to a short Earth Day video

This should be viewed by Upper School Advisories during morning advisory period on Tuesday,
4/19.

Lower school teachers should also have their students view the video on Tuesday 4/19.

4. Earth Day Celebration Symposium: Assembly period on 4/20

each Lower School homeroom will work on an Earth-Friendly activity or project with a group of
upper school students:

4A/Frederick
*Alex Vega will go to Godlee to help with K
*Chris Nittle will go to Kullman to help with K

We are hoping that teachers whose classes are paired up for this activity will collaborate to plan
and implement.

A list of ideas will be posted in a google doc that will be shared with the faculty by the start of
spring break to give teachers time to choose an activity or project. You are not limited to these
ideas!

Money will be available if teachers need to purchase supplies for their activity/project.

Teachers are asked to document the activity/project period by taking photos and writing a short
blurb. These should be saved to the Earth Day Photos folder in Google Docs, which will be shared
with you. (There will be a folder for each class.)
