Adolescence is not as easy time for most. There are many changes and adjustments for both
the adolescents and their families. However, some adolescents are not simply going through
the normal stages and are struggling with feelings of despair, convinced that they will soon
grow out of it. Depression in adolescence is a problem that must be faced. Luckily, there are
steps and choices to make which will help you and your child conquer this depression.

illness. NAMI – The National Alliance on Mental Illness is a 501 © 3 nonprofit organization that offers free
services throughout St. Tammany parish. NAMI provides education, advocacy, resources and support for
individuals suffering with mental illness and their families. We offer free support groups for consumers and
family members as well as education classes for family members.
