This is a resource where you can conduct research. This video tells you that there are certain

the internet; you can use books, photographs, and even other interviews that may help you.
4.1.3 Identify and utilize primary and secondary sources
Title of Artifact: Primary vs Secondary
Creator: Youtube
Date of Entry: May 15
Observations about how your artifact relates to the standard, and your evaluation of its success
or what it teaches about the standard.
Primary sources vary from secondary sources. Primary come directly from wherever you are
getting your source. Secondary, on the other hand, come from someone who is not directly
getting the information. You need to make sure that you cite your sources.
4.1.4 Apply active research methods (e.g., critical reading, personal interviews, credible
sources, surveys, etc.)

Observations about how your artifact relates to the standard, and your evaluation of its success

published on articles. She watched interviews and documentaries on her computer.

Date of Entry: May 6
Observations about how your artifact relates to the standard, and your evaluation of its success
or what it teaches about the standard.
I took notes on the video Writing Tips. This video showed several tips that helped improve
someone writing for a script. For example, it showed that when writing a script, you want to
makes sure the characters names are in all caps instead of lowercase letters. Then you put the
dialogue centered in the middle in lowercase letters.
4.1.6 Attribute all sources correctly
Title of Artifact: How to Cite Sources
Creator: MLA Format
Date of Entry: April 16
Observations about how your artifact relates to the standard, and your evaluation of its success
or what it teaches about the standard.
Citing sources is such an important thing to whether you are writing an essay or filming a movie.
If not cited correctly, there could be copywrite issues that might be a problem later on in the
future. You could be accused of plagiarism.
4.2: CREATE SCRIPTS AND STORYBOARDS
Introduction to Standard: I chose media that attributed to scripts and storyboards. I learned
more about scripts and storyboards. I will pertain this next time I write a script or a storyboard.
4.2.1 Determine appropriate script writing formats for various production types (e.g., news story,
commercial, sports, PSA, narrative, etc.)

Title of Artifact: The Breakfast Club

Creator: All of the actors in said movie
Date of Entry: February 22
Observations about how your artifact relates to the standard, and your evaluation of its success
or what it teaches about the standard.
Today I watched The Breakfast Club for the thousandth time. It is a descent movie but it is a
classic. I really love the faded out tones of the shots and clothing the students wear. One of my
favorite scenes was when they were all sitting in a circle, explaining why they got detention. The
director decided to cut the entire script out and let them improvise how they all got detention. I
thought that was ingenious because the result was absolutely perfect.
4.2.2 Write stories that contain a logical beginning, middle, and end
Title of Artifact: 50 First Dates
Creator: Adam Sandler
Date of Entry: March 8th
Observations about how your artifact relates to the standard, and your evaluation of its success
or what it teaches about the standard.
Today I watched 50 First Dates. This is an Adam Sandler movie and it is my all time favorite.
Drew Barrymore plays the most cutest, sincere character. This movie makes me laugh and fall
in love with it all over again. I really like the dialogue in this movie because like his other movies,
it never sounds forced. It always sounds so casual and you blend right in with the
conversations.

4.2.3 Write scripts that convey a variety of desired story elements (e.g., leads, VO, SOT,
VO/SOT, news package, etc.)
Title of Artifact: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Creator: Joe and Anthony Russo
Date of Entry: March 29
Observations about how your artifact relates to the standard, and your evaluation of its success
or what it teaches about the standard.
This script was perfect for this movie. They had thrown in so many story elements that it was
constructed so detailed and thick. I loved this story because there was a twist I didnt see
coming. This sequel was so much better than the first one.
4.2.4 Describe components of a two-column script
Title of Artifact: Two Column Script

Creator: John C.
Date of Entry: April 17
Observations about how your artifact relates to the standard, and your evaluation of its success
or what it teaches about the standard.
A two column script is different than a regular script. You list what you see on one part of the
column. On the other column, you list who is saying what and what you hear. Be sure to include
character names describe what is going on. You also need to separate when the scenes
changes.
4.2.5 Explain components of a storyboard (e.g., camera angles, locations, shots, movements,
etc.)
Title of Artifact: Purpose of Storyboarding

Observations about how your artifact relates to the standard, and your evaluation of its success
or what it teaches about the standard.
Storyboards are used in movies and TV shows constantly. They show the camera angles and
shots with arrows on how they are pointing. Some storyboards can be very detailed if it is a
difficult scene or sometimes they are very simple and even drawn with stick figures.
4.2.6 Translate from written scripts to storyboards
Title of Artifact:PSA scripts to storyboards
Creator:Starr Stackstien
Date of Entry: May 16
Observations about how your artifact relates to the standard, and your evaluation of its success

Title of Artifact: Interview with Simon Cowell
Creator: Chelsea Lately
Date of Entry:

Observations about how your artifact relates to the standard, and your evaluation of its success
or what it teaches about the standard.
Considering Simon Cowell doesnt really talk that much, I was surpised at how much he did talk
to Chelsea. She asked questions that were always open ended and it forced him to talk twice as
much. He was always responding with in depth responses.
4.3.2 Select interviewee(s) appropriate for the topic
Title of Artifact:Broadcast
Creator: Me
Date of Entry: May 7
Observations about how your artifact relates to the standard, and your evaluation of its success

Title of Artifact: The Grammys Interview
Creator: Ryan Secrest
Date of Entry: May 11
Observations about how your artifact relates to the standard, and your evaluation of its success
or what it teaches about the standard.
I love when Ryan Secrest interviews because he always picks the right background. During big
interviews like the Grammys always have cool backgrounds. They might be in front of a large
statue or maybe in front of the red carpet so you can see the other celebrities getting ready for
their interview.
4.3.4 Contact interviewee(s) and schedule interview(s)
Title of Artifact: Broadcast
Creator: Me

Title of Artifact: Interview with Ellen
Creator: Ellen Degeneres

Date of Entry: May 10

Observations about how your artifact relates to the standard, and your evaluation of its success
or what it teaches about the standard.
I really like to watch ellen Degeneres because she is a funny interviewer that doesnt really
cause any trouble. She actually listens to what the people say and asks questions pertained to
their answers. She asks some bias questions and then again she asks unbiased questions.
4.3.6 Ask questions coherently and concisely, using proper grammar
Title of Artifact: Barack Obama Speech
Creator:Barac Obama
Date of Entry: May 10
Observations about how your artifact relates to the standard, and your evaluation of its success
or what it teaches about the standard.
While doing his speech that was filmed on camera, Obama would also answer questions after
he was finished. The questions that were given to him were coherent and concise. They were
very mature and proper grammar was used not only in the question, but the answer as well.
4.3.7 Demonstrate effective listening skills Improvise questions based on the interviewees
response
Title of Artifact: Interview with Emma Watson

The girl who was interview Emma Watson was fantastic at improvising questions based on
Emma Watsons response. Emma would answer in lengthy, very descriptive responses and the
interviewer would always come back with a question that pertained to her answer.
