"Annual Report 2013-14 and

Financial Statements for Queensland Treasury and Trade." Economic Systems Research 6
(2014): 1-128. 24 Sept. 14. Web. 14 Jan. 2015.
The economy of Queensland was one of the fastest growing economies within Australia,
with growth outstripping that of the wider Australian economy in every financial year between
199596 and 200708. In 2009, the global financial crisis slowed Queensland's economic
growth. A downturn in tourism, low housing construction starts and the cancellation of a number
of mining projects is hampering Queensland's economic growth. The state's low growth figure of
0.2% in 2010-11 was due to the impact of widespread flooding and Cyclone Yasi affecting
agricultural production and exports of commodities, particularly coal.Queensland generated
19.5% of Australia's gross domestic product in the 2008-09 financial year. The economy is
primarily built upon mining, agriculture, tourism and financial services.
I feel that this was a very informative document for me to find. Because the document is
an overview of Queenslands economy for the year of 2014 its very recent and reliable data. Also
because this was published by the Queensland economic and treasury department, I can be sure
that this is a sound and reliable source. While its is true that I don't fully understand half of what
is going on in this document, I do understand the gist of the information that is presented.

"About Queensland and Its Government." About Queensland and Its Government.
Queensland Government, 7 Jan. 2015. Web. 17 Feb. 2015.
The website contains various subpages that hold information on Queensland. There are
several big headers that list subcategories, how government works and About Queensland are the
two examples. Some subcategories, for example, are System of government, Towns and regions,
Government responsibilities, and Statistics and facts. The source is very easy to navigate and has
all of its information in neat organized sections.
I feel as if this is a very helpful source for pulling up quick facts and information on
Queensland. I liked that it has everything organized and I don't have to do much in that way of
sifting through junk to find that information that is useful to the research. The webpage is
monitored and maintained by the Queensland Government itself so this information there should
be gonna be very reliable.

This book really helped with learning the geography of Queensland. The book itself is on
Australia as a whole not just Queensland. Though I managed to find most of the information
needed through selective reading. A very useful and helpful resource, has all the basic
information that is needed to help get my research really going. Since it is a book with, seventy
two pages of content, Australia in Brief covered all of my research points and topics. The
publisher of is the Queensland Governments Travel and Tourism department which makes the
information all the more reliable.

"Queensland Ancestry Census." Profile ID. N.p., n.d. Web. 14 Jan. 2015.
This site gives me the census for Queensland Australia ancestrally. The site tells me how
many people come from English, Australian, Irish, Scottish, German, Italian, Chinese, Dutch,
Maori, etc descent. It tells me the number of people who originally come from which ethnicity
and the percentage of people from those ethnicities that populate Queensland.

I believe that this source is reliable because it is a census website for all of Australia,
giving a lot of reliable information in the webpage. The site was also sourced from the Australian
Bureau of Statistics, giving it a reliable status because its information was originated on an
official website.
This source had helped me a lot in my research, giving me the information that I need for
the topics that I am researching for the area of Queensland, Australia. This source has helped me
a lot with getting all of the information that I need in a detailed and helpful way. The source has
tables and graphs that help illustrate the information in an easier and more understandable way
than if they were to just paste the information onto the page in plain words.
Whop, Marlina. "Cyclone Marcia Forms off Queensland's Coast." ABC News. ABC News, 17
Feb. 2015. Web. 18 Feb. 2015.
This source gives me information about a cyclone that began to form off Queensland,
Australias coast and how the forecast says that its going to be a category two storm. The source
goes into detail on the storm and how it quickly developed and is becoming quite the issue to
Queenslands community.
I believe that this source is reliable because it comes from a reliable news source, ABC
News. The article also has many photographs of the storm and how it is progressing towards
Queenslands community. The article is also connected to the Queensland government because
they are stating in the article to be safe and to contact them if a member of the community is in
danger.
This source has helped me in my research because it gives me a super current event in
Queensland and that is part of the things that I am supposed to research for this project that we
are doing for this class. This source was posted about 5 hours ago so this news is extremely
current as well.
