No-62-1/2012/NCTE (N&S)_—In exercise of the powers conferred under Clause (dd) of Sub-section (2) of Seotion 32 read with Section 12A of the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993(73 of 1993) and. in supersession of the National Council for Teacher Education (Determination of Minimum Qualifications for Recruitment (of Teachers in Schools) Regulations, 2001 except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, © the Council hereby makes the following regulations, narsely:— 1, Short Title and Commencement— (1) These Regulatioas may be called the National Council for Teacher Education (Determination of Minimum, Quilifcations for Persons to be reeruized as Education Teachers. and Physical Education Teachers in Pre- primary, Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary, Senior Secondary or Intermediate Schools or Colleges) Regulations, 2014. + (2) They shall come into force on the date oftheir publication in the Official Gazette, hase ed| [4-2 é ‘THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY (parrit—sec.4) (@ 2 Applicability He ‘These Regulations shell be applicable for recruitment of teachers and Physical Education Teachers in any recognized school impacting Pre-primary, Primary, Uppet Primary, Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate Schools or Colleges imparting senior secondary education:- Exp anation: - For the purpose of this regulation, the term “Schoo!” includes- (@. A school established, owned and controlled by the Central Government, or the State Government or 2 local authority; (@) A schoo! receiving aid or grants to meet whole or part of its expenses ‘tom the Central Government or the State Government or a Local Authority; (iil) __ A school not receiving any aid or grants to meet whole or part of its expenses from the Central Government or the State Government or a Local Authority. 4 Qualifications for Recruitment - (e) The qualifications for recruitment of teachers in ary recognized school imparting Pre-primary, Primary, Upper. Primary, Secondary, Senior Secondary or Intermediate Schools or Colleges imparting senior secondary education shall be as given in the First and Second Schedule(s) annexed to these Regulations. (&) For promotion of teachers the relevant minimum qualifications as specified in the First and Second sonsideration om xt Schedules} are apptioabte for 5 Power to relax Where the Courcil i satisfied on receipt of reference from the concerned State Government that special circumstances exist warranting relaxation of some of the provisions of the Regulations, it may grant relaxation of that provision to such extent, for such time period and subject to such conditions and limitations as it may consider necessary, ina just and equitable manner, Provided, that no relaxation, shall be granted under these Regulations with regard to the minimum qualifications for appointment of teachers for Level 3 (Class Ito VIII) as specified in the First Schedule. & Interpretation ‘fany question arises relating to interpretation of these Regulations or equivalence of various teaciter’s training programmes, the Council shal decide the same.
