LINCOLN'S
ASSASSIN KILLED
WITH PRECISE SHOT
By DEXTER
April26,1865
John Wilkes
Booth was killed in a Virginia
barn at the Garrett household
today by Boston Corbett.
Other soldiers were being sent
in on a suicide mission to
attempt to disarm Booth by
using all of his ammunition.
The barn was set on fire, and in
a desperate attempt to kill
Booth, Corbett shot through
the wall, despite being given
specific orders not to do so. If
the rest of his group had had
their way, then they would have
attempted to instead capture
Booth, to collect the lucrative
100,000$ reward. A precise
shot from his pistol managed to
hit Booth in the neck. Booth
died several hours later, on a
porch in Port Royal.
