Intervention Aide 2004-2015


Intervention aides must pass background checks and state testing. Intervention aides work with teachers
and school counselors to evaluate the best plan to meet the needs of the student. Each students history
is reviewed, including grades and temperament and then placed in the appropriate level to their best
advantage. Students may leave or be added to intervention according to the students needs and
advancement. Intervention aides prepare students for state testing and assist in testing.
Primary Job Responsibilities include:

Scheduling and placing students in appropriate groups and weekly time slots

Preparing weekly lesson plans

Instructing 3rd to 8th grade students in one on one or small group settings

Progress monitoring student grades and state testing preparedness

Teaching math and reading

Collaboration with teachers regarding students progress

Staying current with the latest state education standards

Scribing state tests

Library Aide 2010-2013


Library aides for the middle school and elementary buildings administer library period for classes
containing 22-25 students. Functions include monitoring the class, book talks, and helping students select
books. Library aides attend yearly county meetings and are trained to work with the HCCA system. Library
aides also assist students in research and finding the appropriate material for class projects or papers.
Primary Job Responsibilities include:

Checking in and out books, iPads, and mini-iPads

Purchasing books and supplies

Shelving books

Teaching students keyboarding and the Dewey Decimal system
