Project Summary
For my EDGE Project I taught a basic
Korean language class to a handful of
students. I liven in Korea for 2 years
and have a good grasp on the Korean
language, and I wanted to share the
language with others. The purpose of
this project was not to make the
students fluent or even proficient in
Korean; the purpose was to give them a
starting point on their journey to learn a
foreign language.

Project Highlights

Here we have the basic Korean alphabet, consisting of

consonants and vowels similar to the English language.
Grasping the alphabet is vital to mastering the language.

There were many funny moments

during the course of this project, but
one stands out above the rest. As
expected, the students wanted to learn
some Korean slang that they could use
if they ever met a Korean person. I had
to decide what would and what wouldnt
be appropriate to share with them, but I
decided to teach them a funny term
calling someone an elementary school
student. Its a very innocent term and
not offensive, but it will be fun for them
to use if they ever make a Korean
friend.

From My Journal
I dedicated a part of the class to letting
them ask me how to say certain words
or phrases in Korean.

Here i taught a basic grammar form, combing the verb for to

forget with the ending do not. This create the phrase Dont
forget. It was fun to be able to teach the students simple
grammar forms that they could use.
