Theater Society Brings Broadway to Turtle Bay for the Holidays

TURTLE BAY, Ill. (Oct. 3, 2013) The Turtle Bay Theater Societys production
Evita will debut at the Hale Hall Theater Center on Thursday, Dec. 12, said the
Societys public relations manager, Alix Smith.
The Society will perform Evita the weekends of Dec. 12 and Dec. 19 on
Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. There will be matinees on Saturday and Sunday

The musical, featuring the song Dont Cry for Me, Argentina, captures the ragsto-riches story of the former first lady of Argentina, Eva Peron. It tells the story of her
transition from poverty to acting in films to becoming first lady, and ends with her death
from cancer at age 33.
The musical was originally debuted on Broadway in 1979, but Cinergy Pictures
also produced Evita in the 1996 film starring Madonna.
We are extremely honored and excited to be producing such a popular Broadway
original, said Dale Levenson, director of the Societys Evita. This is the perfect play

Society and the former lead singer in the heavy metal band Deadwood.
