!
It!is!with!a!deep!sense!of!honor!that!I!write!this!letter!in!recommendation!of!an!astounding!
young!lady:!Nyssa!Gill.!!I!have!known!Nyssa!for!two!years!in!a!variety!of!capacities,!and!I!
have!been!delighted!to!work!with!her!so!closely!on!topics!that!she!is!so!passionate!about.!
Last! year,! I! moved! from! the! English! Department! into! a! new! position! as! the! Teacher!
librarian.! ! I! inherited! many! programs! and! many! library! regulars,! Nyssa! being! among!
them.!!Nyssa!had!a!passion!for!the!library!and!the!established!programs,!and!she!became!
essential!in!helping!me!transition.!!One!of!the!clubs!run!through!the!library!is!Lit!and!Flix,!a!
group!that!reads!the!books!then!views!the!cinematic!adaptations.!!Nyssa!was!instrumental!
in!running!club!meetings!and!helping!me!with!the!logistics!of!planning!trips!and!ordering!
books.!!In!addition!to!helping!with!the!club,!Nyssa!volunteered!during!her!lunches!and!after!
school!to!come!in!and!help!with!library!projects.!!She!received!training!from!the!previous!
librarian,! and! she! was! able! to! help! me! not! only! in! completing! these! projects,! but! she!
invariably!trained!me!a!few!times!!
This!year,!Nyssa!is!one!of!my!library!assistants,!and!a!jokingly!refer!to!her!as!the!AP!TA!
because!she!is!capable!of!running!the!library!without!my!guidance.!!She!helps!patrons!and!
teachers! find! resources! they! need.! ! She! also! became! the! president! of! Lit! and! Flix,! and!
continues!to!run!meetings!for!a!much!larger!club!of!enthusiastic!and!energetic!students.!!In!
addition!to!her!dedication!to!the!library,!Nyssa!is!involved!in!several!AP!courses!and!other!
clubs! on! campus.! ! She! has! managed! to! organize! her! time! commitments! extremely!
efficiently!despite!the!amount!of!time!she!must!put!in!to!these!obligations.!!!!
I!have!no!doubts!that!Nyssa!would!be!a!wonderful!addition!to!any!workforce.!!Nyssas!
personality!would!easily!fit!in!with!any!established!team,!as!she!is!very!positive!and!
gregarious.!!She!works!hard!to!acquire!new!tasks!and!excels!once!she!masters!them.!!She!
has!the!confidence!that!will!allow!her!to!succeed!in!life,!and!she!will!succeed!in!anything!
she!sets!her!heart!to.!!!
A!single!paper!is!not!room!enough!to!contain!all!of!the!wonderful!things!I!would!like!to!say!
