Our Solution
On April 19 th , 2015,
Freddy Gray, a resident of
Baltimore Maryland died
after sustaining injuries
while in police custody the
week before. His death
triggered a series of violent
protests and riots in the
city of Baltimore which
resulted in many injuries,
damages, and arrests.
Events like these seem
to be becoming more and
more prevalent, as the
issue of racial inequality is
still a major challenge in
society today.
These types of riots and
protests are not just taking
place in America; they are
developing around the world,
as minorities try to speak out
about the inequality they
experience on a day to day
basis.
However, we believe
violence is not the way to
address this issue. To try and
help solve this crisis as well

A Platform for Peace

The park above will serve as a

meeting place where peaceful
and nonviolent discussion can
take place. This park can be
thought of as a safe place that
people can come to when they
feel they need to be heard. The
goal is that by creating a safe
and friendly environment, this
park can help prevent people
from channeling their emotions
into anger and violence that
could lead to devastating riots.
