Requesting Prayer

Refuge and Bodhicitta

To the Conqueror Vajra Garuda,

Please bestow all common and uncommon siddhis
To all sentient beings and myself!

In the Buddha, Dharma, and the most sublime Assembly

I take refuge until I achieve enlightenment.
Through the merit of my generosity and other deeds,
May I attain Buddhahood to benet all beings.

Dedication Prayer

Requesting the Blessings from the Guru

DORM KYUNG TRA DRUB GYUR NAS

DRO WA CHIK KYANG MA LU PA
TEI SA LA GO PAR CHO
By the virtue of this practice,
May I achieve the state of Vajra Garuda
To benet all sentient beings and myself!

I prostrate to and take my refuge in the guru and the three precious jewels:
I supplicate you, bless the thread of my consciousness!
(one time)

Four Boundless Minds

May all sentient beings have happiness and the cause of happiness.
May they be free of suffering and the causes of suffering.
May they not be separate from the bliss that is without suffering.
May they dwell in equanimity, free of nearness or distance, attachment or aversion.

Purication Mantra
OM SVABHAVA SUDDHAH SARVADHARMAH SVABHAVA SHUDDHO
HAM
From emptiness arises the letter PAM which transforms into a
lotus ower on top of which is the letter RAM. It transforms into
a sun disc on top of which is the seed-syllable PU. PU dissolves
into eight snakes of various colors, the manifestations of the
eight kings of Nagas. On top of it is the seed-syllable KHROM
(pronounced TROM ) in ve colors. Rays of light extend,
beneting all sentient beings. They return and are absorbed in the
KHROM.
Out of the KHROM I appear as Wisdom-Garuda with
one face, two arms, two legs, in a perching position. My legs are yellow,
symbolizing the earth element; my belly is white, symbolizing the element of water; my upper shoulders are red, symbolizing the re element; my head is blue, symbolizing the air element; the crown of my
head and my wings are of various colors, symbolizing space. I have
sharp horns, a beak, and sharp claws at my hands and feet. My three
eyes are red, moving fast as those of a hawk; my right hand grabs the
wishful-lling jewel from the crown of the King of Nagas, and puts it on top of my
right horn showing the giving mudra. My left hand is in the subjugating mudra

(index and little nger extended), controlling all demons. I am ornated with jewels
and snakes. My body is large as Mt Sumeru. Light extends from all pores of my
body. I dwell in the re of wisdom.
In my throat, on a moon and lotus cushion, is white Buddha Garuda in the center;
on the front petal is blue Vajra Garuda; on the right petal, yellow Ratna Garuda;
on the back petal is red Padma Garuda; and on the left petal is green Karma
Garuda. They all have one face and two arms. Their right hands raised in the
air, holding respectively a wheel, a vajra, a jewel, a lotus and a sword. Their left
hands show the subjugating mudra and hold a snake in their respective colors,
which they are eating with their beak. They are all facing inwardly. At the heart of
the main Garuda is a lotus and moon cushion with a white OM in the center, on
the front petal the blue syllable PA; on the right petal (south), the yellow syllable
KSHIM (pronounced KING); on the back petal (west) the red syllable SVA; and
on the left petal, the green syllable HA.
The main Garuda and the ve at the throat all have the seed syllables OM at the
head, AH at their throat, and HUM at their heart.
Light extend from these syllables, invoking the wisdom Garudas.
OM VAJRA SAMAZA

Again, one worships with the ve sense-offerings:

OM GARUDA SAPARIVARA ARGHAM PARTIZA SVAHA
OM GARUDA SAPARIVARA PADYAM PARTIZA SVAHA
OM GARUDA SAPARIVARA PUSHPE PARTIZA SVAHA
OM GARUDA SAPARIVARA DUPHE PARTIZA SVAHA
OM GARUDA SAPARIVARA ALOKE PARTIZA SVAHA
OM GARUDA SAPARIVARA GANDHE PARTIZA SVAHA
OM GARUDA SAPARIVARA NAIVEDYE PARTIZA SVAHA
OM GARUDA SAPARIVARA SHABDA PARTIZA SVAHA
On then sings the praise of Garuda:
JUNGNE DOK JEN
JUNG CHIN NGA LA WANG
KUN TU GYURJE
DORJE DAP CHOK CHEN
LUI PAL TROK
LHA MI PA GYUR PA
DORJE NAMKHA DING LA CHAK TSAL LO
To the One whose colors symbolize control
Over the ve elements of the Universe,
With your vajra wings you y everywhere,
You are glorious and powerful,
Grabbing the jewel from the crown of nagas,
I bow down to you, Vajra Garuda!
