INDIVIDUAL URBANIZATION PROBLEM MAP
Lake Victoria, Africa
Lake Victoria (aka Victoria Nyanza) is
Africas largest freshwater lake, covering
nearly 27,000 square miles. The lake is located
in Africas more tropic region along the east
coast, near the Indian Ocean (Lake Victoria |
Lake, Africa). The lake is divided into separate
sections under three different countrys
territory: Tanzania owns 51%, Kenya 43%, and
Uganda 6% (Nijru).
Each country has high concentrations of
their population near Lake Victoria. Uganda
has a population of over 31 million; Kenyas
population is over 45 million; and Tanzanias
population is over 51 million (Central
Intelligence Agency).
Naturally a countrys more prominent cities
would be located near some of its best natural
resources. Not only does Lake Victoria provide
fresh water, it allows for travel and
communication among the three countries.
Boundaries are established but so are
partnerships. These in-coastal cities provide
great opportunity for youth to enter the
international field in a neighborly setting.
