Topic Energy
Learning Objectives?

I looked in some experiment book and was pleased to see that the students
had completed quite a few experiments.
You modelled what you wanted the student to do on the board. Always a good
idea to give them an example to get them started.
For energy transformations the students need to focus on the major energy
types involved. You stressed this later on in the period.
I take it that in previous lessons or for homework you had asked the students
to research various sources of energy?
The students were keen to present their findings to the class. You might
want to reward this somehow even if it is just a note in your markbook.
Quick video on solar power. Cant rely on direct streaming so best to find a
way of downloading you tube clips to your computer.
Student presentation on wind power followed by a nice you tube clip.
Probably need to discuss energy loss in transformations at some stage so as
to avoid impractical situations like having a fan to blow a yaght.
The students were well behaved and contributed willingly to the lesson.
No behavioural issues of any consequence.
Good to see the lesson being broken up into chunks ie written, discussion,
presentation, video etc. This caters to a range of learning styles and also
makes the lesson more interesting.
You are still quite loud but good to see that you arent talking over the
students ie youre just quite loud!
Thanks for allowing me to visit your class. I enjoyed the lesson and the
students appeared to be engaged.
