CRITERIA
The candidates should have degrees in Aerospace Engineering and/or others related
branches with related specilization other than prescribed eligibility conditions.
1. For regular candidates:
A: Minimum CGPA at MTech level should be 8.5 for general and 7.5 for SC/ST
B: Minimum percentage for MSc degree should be 80% for general & 70% for SC/ST.
C: Maximum one second class either at +2 level or at Bachelor degree level

2. For sponsored candidates:
A: Minimum CGPA at MTech level should be 7.5 for general and 7.0 for SC/ST
B: Minimum percentage for MSc degree should be 70% for general & 65% for SC/ST.
C: Maximum one second class either at +2 level or at Bachelor degree level
First Class in B Sc, MSc, B Tech, MTech, that is 60% or CGPA of 6.5 with GATE rank less
than 500 or percentile more than 97, as applicable for B Tech / MSc.

However, if candidate is from an IIT with CGPA of more than 8.0 in BTech, then GATE is
not applicable.

Candidates who have not provided results of their qualifying examination
(BE/B.Tech/M.Sc/M.Tech) will not be considered

1. Candidates who have opted for PhD in ME as their first choice only are short listed
2. Only candidates with BTech/BE/AMIE in Mechanical Engineering Sciences (ME, PE, AE,
Naval Arch., Energy/Power Engineering) are short listed.

3. Cut-off marks or CGPA in BTech/BE/AMIE in Mechanical Engineering Sciences is 60%
or 6.5 CGPA and in MTech/ME in Mechanical Engineering Sciences is 65% or 7.0 CGPA

4. For Candidates with highest degree of BTech/BE from Colleges/ Universities and IIT
short-listing is based on GATE Score, NET qualification, marks and available specialization
1. GATE above 300 for reserved category and 400 for general applicants with B. tech./M.
Sc. Degree
2. Applicants who are in the final semester of their M. Tech. Degree.
3. Greater or equal to 60% marks or equivalent CGPA at B. Tech. / M. Sc.
1. Candidates with first choice as Physics.
