Morning
Parents/Guardians!
I
had
the
pleasure
of
meeting
many
of
you
during
parent/teacher
conferences
the
last
two
weeks!
For
those
of
you
I
did
not
see,
my
name
is
Lisa
Battistone,
and
I
am
a
senior
at
Drake
University
who
will
be
student
teaching
with
Mrs.
Philips
until
the
first
week
in
May.
Because
I
will
be
more
involved
in
the
classroom
as
the
next
five
weeks
go
by,
I
wanted
to
take
the
time
to
introduce
myself
and
let
you
know
that
if
you
have
any
concerns
to
please
contact
me.
I
started
here
at
Roosevelt
right
after
Spring
Break.
Prior
to
that,
I
spent
seven
weeks
at
Hoover
High
School
as
a
student
teacher
in
the
Special
Education
department.
I
was
able
to
work
in
both
the
general
education
and
self-contained
classroom
for
9th
and
11th
grade
English.
I
learned
a
lot
during
my
time
there,
and
I
am
very
excited
to
continue
growing
as
a
teacher
here
at
Roosevelt.
In
the
next
couple
weeks,
students
will
be
constructing
and
delivering
a
speech
based
on
an
interview
they
conduct
with
a
person
they
view
as
wise.
The
interview
reflects
on
lessons
learned
in
the
book
Tuesdays
with
Morrie.
After
the
speeches
are
complete,
we
will
be
jumping
right
in
to
Unit
4!
This
unit
deals
specifically
with
nonfiction
and
how
to
synthesize
multiple
texts
in
their
writing.
When
we
begin
this
unit,
I
will
be
teaching
full-time.
This
means
that
any
assignments
and
grades
given
will
go
through
me
(with
the
help
and
approval
of
Mrs.
Philips,
of
course!).
Therefore,
if
you
have
any
concerns,
please
do
not
hesitate
to
email
me
at
the
address
below.
I
look
forward
to
continue
working
with
your
students,
and
I
hope
that
you
have
a
wonderful
day!
Thanks,
Lisa
Battistone
