    Water vs. Club soda is an experiment to see if a plant grows larger with carbon water. If you use club soda to water your plant, it will grow less than watering it with water. The plant grew 10 millimeter shorter than in the control group. When I used water, it sprouted a day earlier than with the club soda. It also grew larger than the experimental group.

    PURPOSE(THISISOBSERVATIONandQUESTION):
    FromwhatIknewaboutphotosynthesispriortothisexperiment,light,CO2,andwater
    arethematerialstocauseplantgrowth.Fortheexperiment,Iusedawhitelight
    becauseplantscanabsorbwhitefasterthanothercolors.

    HYPOTHESIS:
    IbelievethatifIusecarbonwatertowatertheplantsthentheplantwillgrowlargerthan
    withwater.Ibelievethatcarbonwaterwillmaketheplantsgrowlargerbecausethe
    carbonwatercontainshighamountsofcarbondioxide,oxygen,hydrogen,sodium,
    potassium,andphosphorus.Theseelementshelpplantsmakethemlookbetterthan
    aftergivingthemwater.

    WhileIwaswateringtheplantwithclubsoda,theplantsgrewabout10millimeter

    alsogrewlargerthantheexperimental.

    ThevariablesthatIhadusedtogrowtheplantsarewaterandclubsoda.Thecontrol
    groupformyplantwaswater.IusedwaterforthecontrolgroupbecauseIneededto
    seehowtheexperimentalgroup(clubsoda),affectedthegrowthoftheplant.

    CONCLUSION:

    Duringtheexperiment,Ihadusedabout5mlofwatertothecontrolandabout56mlof
    clubsodatotheexperimental,IhadusedmoreclubsodabecauseIneededtomakeup
    forthecarbonationintheexperiment.Thefirstplanttosproutwasunderthecontrol
    group,itgrewabout10mmbeforetheexperimenthadgerminated.Fortheexperimental
    group,theyseemedtohavegrownsmallerthanthecontrolgroupandtheylookedlike
    theyweredehydratedandpartiallywilted.Theexperimentdidnotgowithmy
    hypothesisbecauseIsaidthattheclubsodawouldmaketheplantgrowlargerand
    healthierthanusingwater.Duringthisexperiment,Ihadlearnedthatwaterisisbetter
    tousewhentakingcareofaplant.Ithoughtthatthiswasafairtestuntilweranoutof
    clubsoda.Onceweranout,Ihadstartedusingwaterontheexperimentalgroupand
    theygrewafewmillimeters.Aquestionforotherinvestigatorswouldbe,whyiscarbon
    waterbeworsethannormalwater?Asituationthatcanrelatetothisisthatthis
    experimentcanaffectyouinreallifeisthatifyourunamile,youwoulddrinkwater
    becauseitwouldhydrateyou.
