Bottom Line
Performance and The
Knowledge Guru
report the following
statistics about
gamification (used
primarily in a
university classroom).

Gamified Learning
What is a "Gamified" Classroom?
A gamified classroom is a room that integrates game-based learning
exercises in the curriculum. Game-based learning is a method of
teaching in which students use games in order learn things. These
games may be online or offline. There are a variety of offline games,
including crossword handouts and interactive games played on the
chalk/white board. However, there is a much greater variety of
online games, due to the multitude of educational gaming websites,
many of which may even include online versions of offline games.

The percentage
of students who
obtained A's in the
class rose from
roughly 30% to over
70% when gamebased learning
practices were
used.

The percentage
of students who
received F's
dropped from 10%
to 0% in the same
study.

Students were
more likely to work
harder and engage
with the information
when learning via
game-based
exercises.
