Activity 3: Technology and Human Behavior

Technology changes how we interact with other people. Recall one specific and recent instance in your
life in which the use of technology (mobile phone/laptop, etc.) helped maintain/strengthen social
relations, OR a specific instance in which it has annoyed another person, somehow straining social
relations.
Write a two-page essay (11-12 point font; double-spaced) based on the following:
1. Describe the specific nature and details of interaction/behavior mediated by the technology
used.
2. Explain why this form of interaction or tis type of behavior was enacted, and discuss how it
helped maintain or strain social relations.
3. Discuss what you could have traded-off in using this form of interaction/type of behavior than
any other means (with or without the aid of another form of technology).
4. Submit a hardcopy of this essay on or before 12 May 2015 (Tuesday).
