Bill Gates attended Lakeside School from 1967-1973. There, he
found his love for computers dropping math so that he could spend
more time learning about them.
Bill Gates attended Harvard College from 1973-1975. There he
spent a lot of time using the computers. He then later dropped out
of school in the hopes of starting his own computer software
company with his friend Paul Allen.

Bill Gates co-developed the Altair BASIC, which was an interpreter
for the BASIC programming language that ran on the MITS Altair
8800 and later, S-100 bus computers.

Failures
Before launching Microsoft, Bill was the co-owner of a business
called Traf-O-Data. The company was meant to create reports for
traffic engineers based on the data from roadway traffic counters.
The company was moderately successful but in the end, it ended
up failing.

Obstacles
Bill Gates hacked into the security of some computers, resetting
the meters and crashing them. As a result, he was banned from
using computers for several weeks.
He promised to make a BASIC (programming language) in three
weeks, however, it took him five weeks to accomplish this task. As
a result of missing the deadline, he missed the first opportunity to
establish his product.
Bill wanted to drop out of college so that he could begin starting
his new company. However, his parents wanted him to graduate. It
took him over a year to convince his parents to allow him to drop
out.

Microsoft started off as a small company that turned into a
company that is now worth more than 70 billion dollars. Here are
some points on its growth over time.
Bill Gates was CEO of his company from 1975 to 2006. He was
responsible for the product strategy. He was also an executive
member. Bill Gates was very involved in his company, helping it to
grow in any ways that he could.
