In May, I will be graduating from Shenandoah University with a Bachelor of Science in

Nursing. From my resume you will see that my experiences match the qualifications listed for
this position. While I would prefer to work with critical patients, I would strongly consider any
staff nursing position that is available. I am willing to work evenings, weekends, and I am
amenable to all shifts.
As indicated from my enclosed resume, I have significant work experience. Most recently is
my preceptorship on the surgical floor at Winchester Medical Center. With guidance from my
preceptor, I have performed nursing duties such as full assessments, IV therapy, and wound
care. This experience has allowed me to increase my nursing skills while also providing a
broader base of medical knowledge.
In addition to my nursing skills, I will be bringing strong leadership and team building skills to
Mary Washington Hospital. I was a leader while managing a team of three lifeguards to
effectively deal out daily tasks. During my preceptorship I have learned to effectively manage
five patients while maintaining enthusiasm for the task at hand.
I welcome any opportunity to discuss any positions in person at your convenience. I will be
following up this application during the next week. If there is any additional information you
would like, please feel free to contact me at the above information. I am thrilled to apply my
enthusiasm and experiences to your hospital, and looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Anthony Light
