Located in the southern portions of

Central Luzon, Bulacan is composed
of fertile plains which are fed by the
Pampanga and Angat Rivers. The
eastern part of the province are
highlands, which are parts of the
Sierra Madre mountain range. There
lies the Angat dam, which provides
water supply for the province and
nearby cities, including the Metro
Manila. The highest point in the province is 1,206 meters above sea level,
at Mount Oriod, part of the Sierra
Madre.

Several rivers irrigate the province of

Bulacan, and the Angat River is the
largest among those. The Angat River passes through the towns of Norzagaray, Angat, Bustos, San Rafael,
Baliuag, Plaridel, Pulilan, and Calumpit. From there, it merges with the
Pampanga River but reemerges and
flows through Hagonoy and then
loses itself in the mangroves. The
banks of these rivers are very fertile
and are covered with trees.

Biak-na-Bato National Park is centered on a mountain gorge sliced by the Balaong River in
the Sierra Madre mountain range. More than a hundred caves of varying sizes and crystalline mineral formations are spread across the park. Among the most explored caves is the
Aguinaldo Cave, once the headquarters of President Emilio Aguinaldo. Nido birds or swiftlets
also call the park home, as do monkeys, wild boars, eagles, monitor lizards, and other species of birds that nest in towering trees. Orchids, trees, shrubs, ferns, bushes and bokawe are
