SAPILANG FALLS
Sapilang falls now greets and welcomes
every nature lover to its rustic realm. The
falls are called because they cascade on
one place. However, they are not
identical. The first falls to see is tall, thin,
and has multi-layers. The second falls, on
the other hand, descends on a broad and
bare rockface. This can be climbed. This
waterfall has an extension which cannot
be seen from below.
KAPARKAN FALLS
This is perhaps one of the most famous
tourist spots in Abra. Unlike most popular
falls in the country, Tineg is bizarrely
unique. It cascades on a terraced-like
manner on bare limestone rocks. It has
numerous pools along its broad stretch
with crystal-clear water.
PIWEK ROCK
FORMATION
It is quite a challenge to get here. But the view
and pleasure it gives is simply beyond words’
description. Similar to Tinipak River in Rizal,
Piwek Rock Formations are a cluster of white
rocks and boulders along the river. The
turquoise and clear waters of the river makes
this even more alluring to visit. The rock
formations are becoming a popular jumping
spots. The highest of which is around 11
meters.

ARYA! ABRA FESTIVAL
Abrenian Festival or the Arya Abra Festival

is a week-long celebration coinciding with

the province's foundation anniversary held

annually every March 5 to 10 or at the

second week of March in the capital town

of Bangued. It showcases the province's

history and culture through parades and

cultural shows as well as agro-industrial

fairs.
The word ‘’Bangued’’ was an
evolution of the word ‘’Bangan’’ or
roadblocks or blockades

DUPAG ROCK FORMATION
This is a cluster of jagged limestone boulders
at barangay Marag. The boulders measure
around 7 to 8 feet high. Climbing to the peaks
presents a real challenge especially if you are
not an ardent hiker. But surely, the thrill and
the wonderful view atop will make up to that.
Due to the rough and sharp texture of the
boulders, visitors/tourists must wear proper
footwear and protective gear.
BAYUGAO FALLS
These are a series of mini-waterfalls. Their
naturally-built pools continue to attract local
interests and even tourists. Their cool and
crystal-clear waters cast a rejuvenating sight.
LUSSOK CAVE
To get inside the cave, one needs to ride a
boat. The view of the river itself is
breathtaking. It reflects the color of the
surrounding forest. Yes, that’s fresh and
pristine waters emanating from the cave. It is a
perfect spot for swimming and immersing with
nature.

FRUIT HARVEST
FESTIVAL
Celebrated in September and
October in Kirikitan, Conner
Apayao. It is the harvest
season of rambutan, lanzones,
durian, oranges and pomelo.
Apayao has historial spots & one of these is Spanish
Church at Brgy. Mataguisa, Pudtol. One of the oldest
churches in the Philippines.
BENGUET

MT. PULAG
Rising to an estimated 2, 922 MASL, Mt. Pulag
is the highest mountain in Luzon and the third
highest in the Philippines. Vast groves of dwarf
bamboo grasses cover its rolling summit. These
shelter endangered species such as the cloud
rat. The peak of Mt. Pulag offers one of the
best views of sunsets and sunrises.
TEKIP FALLS
Tekip Falls cascades like a giant curtain of
water. It measures more than 80 feet high. It
has small and shallow pools with icy-cold
waters. To really feel the rejuvenating effect of
Tekip falls, it would be good to position
yourself at its base while its cascades give you
a massage. The best time to visit Tekip falls and
other cascades of Bakun is during the rainy
months of June to December.
BURNHAM PARK
Burnham Park is considered to be one of the
most famous parks in the country. It is located
in Jose Abad Santos Drive, Baguio City 2600
Benguet Philippines. It covers a total land area
of 32.84 hectares. The park is a favorite place
for both locals and tourists. This place is often
full-packed with people regardless if it is rainy
or not.

year’s theme is ‘’La Trinidad’s My

Philippines because virtually every type of
vegetable used in salads produce here

TAPPIYAH FALLS
This is one of the most popular tourist spots in
Ifugao. It cascades on the face of a massive
rock cliff for more than 75 meters. Because of
its sheer water volume and force, it created a
wide and deep pool. Its waters are cold and
crystal-clear. They emanate from the mossy
forests of Mt. Amuyao and its adjacent ridges.
BATAD AMPITHEATER
TERRACES
This is an easily recognizable tourist spots in
Ifugao. From the vantage viewpoint, the
terraces look like a cascading waterfall. One
could just imagine how the Ifugao’s ancestors
were able to build such earthen structure using
only wooden tools and stones.They provide rice
and vegetables for the community. And these
terraces show how the people and their natural
environment have been living in harmony for
centuries.
MT. NAPULAWAN
Mt. Napulawan projects one of the most
fascinating views in Ifugao. It rises to more than
2,642 meters above sea level. Mt. Napulawan is
derived from the Ifugao term, “Tuwale,” which
literally means, white. Perhaps, this is because
of the cloud and fog which perpetually cover
the mountain.

IMBAYAH FESTIVAL
The Imbayah festival is part of the Ifugaos'
cultural pride. Celebrated every 3 years in
Banaue, Ifugao, since 1979, it is based on
an old ritual celebrating the ascendancy of
a commoner and his family to the ranks of
Kadangyans or the Banaue elite. The
word imbayah itself comes from the Ifugao
word bayah, or rice wine, which signifies
nobility and high stature in the community.
The Ifugao is a group that lives in a mountainous region of
north-central Luzon around the of town Banaue. Also known
as the Ifugaw, Ipugao, Yfugao, they are former headhunters
who are famous for their spectacular mountain-hugging rice
terraces.

BINASALAN FALLS
This is one of the increasingly-popular tourist
spots in Kalinga. Its waterfall emanates from the
dense mossy forests of Mt. Binuluan. It cascades
for more than 30 meters on a very deep pool.
Swimming on the pool can be quite dangerous
due to its strong and churning current. Summer
then would be the best time to take a dip.
Verdant vegetation of shrubs, mosses, and
grasses surround its base.
SULFUR HILLS
These are located on the lower slopes of Mt.
Binuluan. To get here, you need to trek on
hunter’s trails for hours. You will be passing
across pine and mossy forests. Expect the thrills
and challenges frequently encountered when on
forested terrains. But the bizarre sight of these
sulfur hills would definitely make up the
difficulty in getting here.
MT. BINULUAN
This mountain volcano towers over the
municipalities of Tinglayan, Pasil and Lubuagan.
It stands prominently for more than 2,329
MASL. Beautiful and dense mossy forests cover
its upper slopes. According to the locals, the
mountain erupted for a few times during the
past century. An interesting feature Mt.
Binuluan is the presence of fumarole fields,
solfataras and hot springs on its slopes. Trekking
to the mountain presents a real challenge since
trails are not yet fully-established.

MATAGOAN FESTIVAL
The Matagoan Festival celebrates the

warm and peaceful relationship between

and among the different tribes that reside

in Tabuk. The festival highlights the

indigenous practices, arts, and dances of

the different sub-tribes. It is celebrated

on the 16th of June every year.


The name Kalinga is derived from the
Ibanag and Gaddang ‘’kalinga’’ which means
‘’headhunters’’

MT.AMUYAO
One of the highest peaks in the Philippines and in
Mountain Province. Thick mossy and pine forests
cover the mountain slopes, providing haven for
endemic and endangered species such as deer,
wild pigs, cloud rats, and civet cats. The trek to
Mt Amuyao’s summit takes four to five hours,
depending on one’s pace. While atop, one can
have a panoramic view of the mountain ranges of
Sadanga, Sagada, Bontoc, Bauko, as well as the
provinces of Kalinga and Ifugao.
MT. BINARATAN
Mt. Binaratan in Maducayan, Natonin boasts of
pristine ecological wonders. Dipterocarp and
mossy forests cover its slopes. These host various
species of endangered wildlife species such as
hornbill, and monkeys. This remains, however, to
be one of the least known tourist spots in
Mountain Province.
MABAROTBOT BOILING
MUD
These are pools of bubbling mud found in
barangay Bantay in Paracelis. According to
legends, the pools are the remnants of a sunken
village. Thus, the locals believe that they are
inhabited by unseen spirits/deities. A government
study however, showed that the bubbling
properties of the mud are caused by methane. To
get here, one needs to hop on a ride for about an
hour from the two center and later on, take a few
minutes’ walk from the road.

LANG- AY FESTIVAL
It is usually celebrated on February

19 every year. The Lang- Ay Festival

is a celebration of merriment, kinship,

music, dances and bountiful harvest

in Mountain Province
Formerly dubbed as ‘’La Montanosa’’ by
Spanish administrators for its mountainous
terrain, Mt. Province lies in the heart of
the Grand Cordillera, known to be the
Philippines biggest and highest chain of
mountains
