At CCC
VINELAND, February 18, 2016 Where do all CCC graduation students
go before and after class? Wawa. Chris Gheysens, CEO of Wawa, will
be making the commencement speech at graduation on May 19, 2016.
Cumberland County College enrolls nearly 4,000 students and offers
125 career and associate degree programs. CCC was recently
recognized as one of the nations top 50 community colleges ranked
29th in the U.S. and first in New Jersey.
Gheysens is a Vineland native who graduated from St. Augustine
College Preparatory School. He earned his degrees at Saint Josephs
University and Villanova. He will be making the commencement speech
at Cumberland County College.
In a interview with Samantha Drake, Gheysens says, Ive met a lot of
mothers, fathers, spouses and children, and looked them in the eye
and said, I have a responsibility to the individual in your family thats
working for Wawa. Thats a responsibility I think a servant leader
has: Youre creating a family, and its about opening up the lines of
communication and telling associates its really more than just a job.
Gheysens joined the Wawa family in 1997 where he spent the next 14
years in finance and administration. There he served as CFO, learning
from Stoeckel and his brand of servant leadership. In 2013, Gheysens
was promoted to CEO.

Bio
Chris Gheysens is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Wawa
Inc., a privately held chain of convenience store/ gas stations with
nearly 700 locations along the East Coast. Gheysens previously worked
in the audit practice at Deloitte LLP, in Philadelphia. He has been an
active member of the board of directors for the Southeastern
Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Red Cross since 2009. He also
serves on the dean's advisory committee for the Villanova School of
Business. He has been a Member of Economic Advisory Council at
Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Inc. since September 18, 2013.
He holds a B.S. in accountancy from Villanova University and an M.B.A.
from St. Joseph's University.
