Sierra Vista High School

4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Friday afternoon, both the tennis team and badminton teams practice was cancelled, so I
gathered the same people to play more volleyball. This time around, my previous teammates
Jason was replaced with Benton, so the team consisted of me, Benton and Kelwin. Learning from
the mistakes of the previous games, I decided to suggest a few strategies to the team. With their
strengths and weaknesses in mind, I split them into various roles and told them how to react to
certain plays. Benton, being taller, was up at the net with me while I have Kelwin in the back.
The idea was to have me or Benton spike/set the ball and Kelwin is in the back receiving. The
results throughout the game were consistent and we ended up winning. To be quite honest, I
believed the enemy team to have stronger players but lacked a sense of teamwork and
communication. Facing off with opponents that use the same strategies, becoming the victor is a
matter of who has the best communication and ability to flow well with each others plays.
