Survivor

Survivor is an American rock band formed in Chicago in 1978


by Jim Peterik. The band achieved its greatest success in the
1980s with its arena rock sound, which garnered many charting
singles, especially in the United States.
The band is best known for "Eye of the Tiger," the theme song
for the motion picture Rocky III). Singles like "Burning Heart",
"The Search Is Over" , "High on You" "Is This Love" and "I Can't
Hold Back" continued to chart in the mid-1980s.
Eye of The Tiger won the band the Grammy Award for best
rock performance by a duo or group with vocal. Also it was
voted best new song by the peoples choice awards and
received an academy award nomination.
The new song featured a faster tempo and was peaking at
number 1, remaining there for six weeks and was in the Top 40
for a total of eighteen weeks.
